The present study dealswiththesupercritical flowcharacteristics and the effort has been made toverify analyticalandempirical relations based on extensive experimentation for different characteristicsnamely:sequent depth ratio (h2/h1),efficiency of jump (E2/E1), relative height of jump (hj/E1) andrelativelength of jump (Lj/h2).Also, the existing models for differentchannel conditions are discussed;significance of Froude number and Reynolds number for arange of velocity mentioned in literatures arehighlighted; models proposed bydifferentauthorsanditsvalidationwerealsoexplained.Undular jumpformation and the role of turbulent boundary layerwere alsoexplained for Froude numbervaryingbetween1.3-2.3.All thecharacteristicsare found suitable with existing relations and can be usedasguidelinesforthe analysisofdifferentchannelandchannelconditions
