the result of this study clearly called for futher manipulation of familiarization time. long lookers failed to show a discriminative response to either global or local stimulus properties on either task type in experiment 1. this may be attributable to insufficient familiarization times therefore should be increased in order to decrease the difficulty of the tasks for this group.
in the next two experiment, familiarization levels were thus adjusted for long-and short-looking infants in order to try and equate these two groups performance on both discrimiation and generalization tasks.
