Two important limitations must be weighed before the findings of this study are generalized. The first is that all treatment components were delivered by a single person. Extreme Type As were also selected for participation. The median JAS Type A scale score was at the 97th percentile. The observation that participants were highly motivated to change should be balanced with the TABP's being a long-standing behavioral pattern that participants had previously attempted to change with limited success.
