2. Methods2.1. SampleWe searched the ERIC, Web of Science, Science Direct andProquest databases for relevant studies, primarily using the keywordsprocrastination, delay, performance, academic performance,achievement and academic achievement. We restricted the searchto articles published between 1984 and 2014 because the mostwidely used measure of procrastination, the PASS, was developedin 1984.Retrieved studies were only included in the analysis if they metthe following three criteria, (1) written in English; (2) reportedcorrelation coefficients and (3) reported measures on both procrastinationand academic performance. Using these inclusion criteriawe selected a sample of 33 studies, based on a total of 38,529participants. Table 1 summarizes the studies included in the metaanalysis.
