Our subcontractor has completed the remote sensing of the project site to define areas of Modified/Natural habitat within the area of influence. These results indicate that the majority of the site is natural habitat. Areas identified as modified habitat may still be classified as critical habitat if they are utilized by species of conservation significance (eg. Orangutan). A copy of the remote sensing output is attached indicating areas of natural/modified habitat.

- ERM has started the impact assessment report. This consists of two chapters – one is a summary of the baseline survey results; and the other is the impact assessment. The impact assessment draws upon the survey results, remote sensing and project description to determine specific habitat and species impacts based on the project layout. This is then assessed against conservation criteria to determine the significance of the impacts. Offsets are calculated based on the residual impacts following mitigation measures. The offsets will be calculated based on area/condition of habitats impacted and also some specific species that may require offsets where habitat offsets are insufficient.

Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas situs ini habitat alami. Area diidentifikasi sebagai habitat dimodifikasi masih dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai habitat penting jika mereka dimanfaatkan oleh spesies penting konservasi (misalnya. Orangutan). Salinan output penginderaan jauh melekat menunjukkan area / habitat alami dimodifikasi. - ERM telah dimulai laporan penilaian dampak. Ini terdiri dari dua bab - satu adalah ringkasan dari hasil survei dasar; dan yang lainnya adalah penilaian dampak. Penilaian dampak mengacu pada hasil survei, penginderaan jauh dan deskripsi proyek untuk menentukan habitat dan spesies dampak tertentu berdasarkan tata letak proyek. Ini kemudian dinilai terhadap kriteria konservasi untuk menentukan signifikansi dampak. Offset dihitung berdasarkan dampak residual berikut langkah-langkah mitigasi. Offset akan dihitung berdasarkan wilayah / kondisi habitat yang terkena dampak dan juga beberapa spesies tertentu yang mungkin memerlukan offset mana offset habitat tidak mencukupi.
