Jalal was deeply lost in thoughts, her teary eyes were constantly coming in front of him... Abdul noticed Jalal's stress and worry on his face... He knew very well what was going on in his mind... After Diwan E Khaas, his sudden anger and the way he reacted towards Jodha begum in the morning, he was able to see his bruised manly ego. Both were silently riding on their horses. At last Abdul decided to break the silence.

Abdul asked in casual tone "Shahenshah, Can I ask you something if you don't mind, where we are going?"

Jalal replied calmly "I really don't know but I want to see the condition of my people... I want to see how common people spend their life... I need to know today what they think about me... I have worked so hard all these years to fulfill my duties... Do they really respect me out of love or out of fear? I have many questions in my mind... Am I too harsh and heartless towards them???

(Hum apni Riyaya ke dore pe jaa rahe hai... hume pata nahi jaana kahan hai...par hume maloom karna hai Riyaya hamare bare kya sochti hai...? Kya hum sach me sakht, bereham aur sangdil hai...? Kya woh hamari izzat humse darr kar karte hain ya sach mein humse pyar karte hain. Hamare mann mein bahut se sawal hain.)

Abdul slowed down and asked him surprisingly "Shahenshah, that means we won't be back till afternoon..." (To iska matlab hum dopeher tak vapas mahal nahi pochege...)

Jalal with confused gaze replied "Yes... I don't think we will be back to the palace for two three days. Why you look so surprised??? Am I forgetting something important???"

Abdul with shock replied "Shahenshah, seems like you have forgotten about the function you announced in the honor of Malika E Hindustan and the function is this afternoon in few hours...and this is a very big Jashn, we have invited so many royal kings and administrators... Jalal abruptly stopped with a shocking expression and said regretfully "How did I forget about this function... It completely slipped out of my mind... this has never happened before... This is a very big function and I am surprised Rukaiya begum and Badi Ammi both didn't remind me about this function... Abdul it is very important for me to attend this function for our Mughal respect... I have invited many kings and administrators... It is very important for me to reach the palace before function."

They turned back towards the palace... Abdul asked in a low tone "Shahenshah, this is very first time you have forgotten something big like this... Forgive me for my audacity but can I ask you something??

Jalal also knew what he is going to ask, he nodded his head in a yes.

Abdul nervously asked "Shahenshah, I have noticed a vast change in you after yesterday's DWK... You seemed lost ... your face has turned pale and your glow has wiped out... You looked very upset on something... Is it because of yesterday's verdict???"

(Aaj pehli baar aisa hua hai ki aap itni badi baat ko bhul gaye. Gustakhi maaf par, ek baat puch sakta hu... kal DWK ke baad se aapke chehre ka rang fika pad gaya hai... Aur aap koi gehri soch me dube hue hai... Kya is soch ke piche kal ka faisla hai??)

Jalal replied sadly "Abdul you are right... You know me very well... Yes yesterday's verdict has really put me in deep thoughts... According to me Jodha begum took this decision by her heart and I do not agree with her judgment... She gave the verdict against Mughal law... Her verdict has left me thinking about my decision on making her Malika E hindustan... What is your opinion about yesterday's decision??"

Abdul understood what Jalal wanted to hear... He knew Jalal's sharp mind very well...he never lets other's know what is in his mind before asking their opinion. In a way he was forcing him to agree to his opinion.

Abdul replied openly without any hesitation "Shahenshah, according to me there can't be a better judgement than this. She has not only given justice to the culprit but she has given life to entire family. I think Jodha begum has a broad vision and far thinking... I am really proud of her verdict."

(Shahenshah mere mutabik isse acha koi aur faisla nahi ho sakta... Is faisle ne pure parivar ki zindagi bacha li...? Aur yeh faisla kafi door ka soch ke liya gaya hai... Humko aaj ke faisle par fakra hai... abdul gave his opinion with strong voice and expression...)

Jalal got shocked hearing Abdul's strong opinion against him.

Jalal looked at Abdul with despise expression and replied in defending tone "Abdul, My opinion is completely opposite... I strongly believe this decision has been taken from heart... and when you are in power to give verdict... you can't take decisions by heart. It's not practical at all... If people's tears started to impact me, then I won't be able to take the right decision... I am upset with Jodha begum just because she knew very well before giving the verdict... I gave her enough hints to follow the law and if she did not agree with me then she should have called them back in the court a week later but she didn't. I see this as her audacity... She ruled against the law without changing the law... It takes weeks to amend any law. After a lot of discussion and advice I allow to make change in law but she thinks she is way smarter than me. She gave everyone the example of hungry kid, what was she trying to prove that I am a cruel Shahenshah... I am heartless and she is the only one who cares about the people. I will never forgive her Abdul.
