apparentpower that each inverter will either supply or drawfromthe electrical systemmust be
known. These ratings will largely depend on the compensation objectives and to what limits
they are specified tomaintain. Ofthe three voltagecompensationobjectives (voltage sag,
unbalanced voltages, voltage harmonics), the greatest power demandsof the series inverter will
almost always occur during voltage sag conditions. For the parallel inverter, generally the
reactive power compensation demands will dominatethe design of the converter, as opposed to
harmonic current compensation.
