Dear Nyoman,
thanks a lot for the nice pictures! Sure, I will keep you informed when the next group would like to visit Sawah Luhur in September.

As about Jacopo's arrival, we are still waiting for his journalistic visa which is in the process now. If everything goes well, he should be able to arrive in Indonesia the 14th of August until the end of August. I'm working out the schedule of interviews and visits to the different sites but I could confirm it as soon as I'm sure about his visa. More or less, our plan is to come to Bogor on the 16th August to interview Prof. Murdiyarso in CIFOR (maybe also some other scientists) and then coming to your office for interviewing you and other researchers of your staff. The visit to Sawah Luhur would be the week after around 25th August.
But, at the moment, these are only provisional dates.

I would like to ask you a couple of things:

1- I know that the researcher from CIFOR, Ibu Teri or Ibu Meli, goes every month to Sawah Luhur to make samples of mud and to measure the growth of mangroves, in order to understand how much carbon they are stocking. It would be very important if we could document a day of field research on the site, following the researcher in his/her work and listen to his/her explanation about how fundamental are mangrove from the point of view of mitigation to CC! Would it be possible to coordinate with the CIFOR's research for the month of August and having him/her coming during the dates we will be in Sawah Luhur? Should this plan be agreed with you or with CIFOR?

2- I remember to have seen pictures of the beach's reclamation between Pulau Satu and Pulau Dua, from above as if they have been shot by a camera drone, so I was wondering if WIIP has a drone to take this kind of pictures or have you rent it? We also need to shoot some aerial views of the land with tambaks in order to let people understand how the system of tambaks works as a "lung", with sea water from tides and fresh water from rivers come in and out. It would also be interesting to have some aerial views of the hundreds of meters of new beach, with mangroves, of your project of reclamation to introduce the concept of how mangroves are able to protect coastline from erosion and flooding (adaptation). If you have the camera drone, would you kindly lend it to us for a day? or if you have rent it, could you please let me know where to go to have it rent for us?

Thank you for your help in planning our report!
Have a wonderful day,
Elisabetta

Sayang Nyoman,
