A nanomodified resin was prepared by adding nanoclay fillers with unsaturated polyester resin. The characteristic of nanomodified resin was evaluated by static uniaxial compression test at different temperatures and nanoclay contents. From the observations, the unsaturated polyester resin became leathery and then, with increasing temperatures becomes rubbery in nature. The investigation shows that an increased in temperatures resulted in significant reduction of the compressive strength and modulus elasticity of the nanoclay filled polyester resin. All weight percentage filler samples showed reduction close to 70% in strength, particularly at high temperatures closer to the Tgtemperature. Despite the reduction, the nanoclay filled samples have indicates improvement in strength by almost 40% from neat samples to 5wt% samples at elevated temperatures.
