““Ask and it will be given to you;

““Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Matthew 7:7-11

This blog picks up right where the last one finished. In addition to the doors God opened for our team at the boarding school I also had high hopes to take the team to an IRIS conference that was being held in Jakarta.

The only obstacle to us attending was a lack of housing and transportation. Jakarta is a huge city and hostels within out budget are hard to come by. The Lord knew my desire to take the team for the three day conference, so I began praying into God making it happen.

One morning I asked - Lord, pave the way for us to get to this conference by providing us with free housing. I didn't want cheap housing, I wanted a free gig so that our conference would be feasible. I posted quickly online, waiting to see what God wanted to do.

Several hours later I receive this: "Hey Jeremi! Love seeing what you do back home. My aunt has houses she rents in Jakarta and she's willing to offer em for free to the team!"

I was riding down a mountain on the back of a motorbike when I got that. All I wanted to do was put my hands in the air and shout for joy! "God - you always provide for my sons!" I was so thankful He has so quickly answered little Jeremy's prayer that day.

Several days later our team was headed back from a large Islamic gathering in West Java. I knew one of Indonesia's most well known pastors and revivalists, Philip Mantofa, was going to be at the conference. I knew a good friend of mine knew Philip, so as God was continuing to prompt me to dream into "immeasurably more" (Ephesians 3:20) I asked, "God, let us meet with Philip!" I texted my friend with high hopes.

Not too long afterwards I receive a text from my friend, a phone number. "Who's phone number is this?" I though. Turns out it was the phone number to Philip Mantofa's wife!

I celebrated with the guys in the car as high fives and fist pumps. "God - no one is better at blowing my mind than you are!" We looked forward with great excitement to talk with Philip and receive some of his heart for the beautiful country and people of Indonesia.

Back to the house story - a couple days before the conference starts I get a call from our generous house host. "I have news for you - good I think. The house is a bit far from the conference, so we want to put you somewhere closer. So we are going to put your team up in a hotel, is that okay?" Is that okay?! Little did we know we had just received a five night stay at a four-star hotel that was only a 15 minute taxi ride from our conference. You get the idea : bath robes, free continental breakfasts, big pools, and some extremely grateful World Racers. A lot of Jesus giving good gifts to some of his kids, for sure!

Our team was incredibly blessed by our accommodations and the conference. We were challenged and encouraged. We worshiped alongside hundreds of spiritually hungry Indonesians and some amazing expats. Every night we crashed in the amazing rooms God had provided simply because we were willing to ask some big prayers and trust an all-too-capable (and willing) Father.

Our last night of the conference we were ushered into a conference room to meet Philip and his wife. Will Hart was also in the room. The couple prophesied over us and encouraged us in the months that lay in front of us.

What an incredible presentation of God's love and provision! Looking forward to even more in the month to follow!

I was riding down a mountain on the back of a motorbike when I got that.
