As recommended by Favilli, Cesar, and Oliveras (2003), we sought to create space for the expression and recognition of African cultures, very close to this student’s childhood and teenage experiences. At the start of the 2nd year of the course, in a task inspired by projective techniques (TIPT) that Ernesto carried out, the presence of a strong connection to the African cultures was clear, for he ssociated science with an African landscape, where various cultural elements are visible (animals, plants, landscapes, stars) (see Figure 2). As he would mention later on, this drawing represents the African jungle at night.

In another task, he told a rather original story involving an alligator. When
asked about the origin of the story, he said: I must have been about 15 (…) It was an old man, at night, telling stories… He told the children this story, and I was also listening and I heard that story like that. And I remembered that story… (…) Th e adults started telling stories… Each one would tell the story he knew and that’s how I heard that story. (I1fu, Ernesto).

Seperti yang direkomendasikan oleh Favilli, Cesar, dan Oliveras (2003), kami berusaha untuk menciptakan ruang untuk berekspresi dan pengakuan budaya Afrika, sangat dekat dengan anak-anak ini dan pengalaman para siswa remaja. Pada awal tahun 2 tentu saja, dalam tugas terinspirasi oleh teknik proyektif (TIPT) yang Ernesto dilakukan, kehadiran koneksi yang kuat dengan budaya Afrika jelas, karena ia ssociated ilmu dengan lanskap Afrika, di mana berbagai unsur budaya yang terlihat (hewan, tumbuhan, lanskap, bintang) (lihat Gambar 2). Saat ia akan menyebutkan nanti, gambar ini merupakan hutan Afrika di malam hari. Dalam tugas lain, ia menceritakan sebuah kisah yang agak aslinya melibatkan buaya. Ketika ditanya tentang asal-usul cerita, ia berkata: Aku pasti sudah sekitar 15 (...) itu seorang pria tua, pada malam hari, bercerita ... Dia mengatakan kepada anak-anak cerita ini, dan saya juga mendengar dan saya mendengar cerita itu seperti itu. Dan aku ingat cerita itu ... (...) Th dewasa e mulai bercerita ... Masing-masing akan menceritakan kisah dia tahu dan itulah bagaimana saya mendengar cerita itu. (I1fu, Ernesto).
