Hyundai Tucson to launch in October 2016

At the launch of the all-new Elantra, Hyundai officials have confirmed that the new Tucson SUV will make a comeback to the Indian market around October 2016. This is the 2nd time a Hyundai showroom will have the Tucson model on sale. Customers of the 1st gen Tucson speak highly about the SUV, and hence, market response should be favourable.

Also, the Tucson comes in at a time when existing Hyundai Creta owners could also begin to plan for an upgrade.

This is the 3rd generation Tucson and will slot between the Creta & Santa Fe SUVs. So expect pricing to be in the range of Rs. 15 – 20 lakh.

The Tucson is expected to come only in a single diesel engine option, but in two states of tune producing either 135 BHP or 180 BHP. Engines would be matched to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Hyundai already revealed the Tucson to the Indian audience at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The smallest SUV offering from the brand, the Carlino concept which is a sub-4 metre SUV is still more than a year away.
