Today is the final day of our 4 day Positive Prevention training project. We completed 2 rounds, each with attendance of roughly 10 participants. 95% of participants were recruited from the SUFA program. The 2 rounds were co-facilitated by KDS senior members: Yatik, Reny and Yuna.We invited Yuna has shown a lot of promise and is extremely bright, so although she participated in the PP training from earlier this year, I asked her back to further her skills with the view to her potentially taking over some responsibility in KDS- "regenerasi". She is really enthusiastic about this.Training worked around the broad themes of PP: Silvie is a very relaxed facilitator, who has competent capacity in disseminating information and core concepts. She is fantastic and the participants loved her.Training followed these rough topics:DAY ONE 1. Pre-test 2. Pilihan pencegahan 3. Buka statusDAY TWO 1. Kepatuhan ARV 2. Penolakan diri dan penerimaan lingkungan 3. Post-test99% of participants indicated an increase in knowledge.Overall the training was very successful, and the desired outcome achieved. However, just some feedback for future training sessions, I appreciate that Silvie is used to facilitating in very relaxed settings ie the jungle in Papua, and does not use powerpoint etc, so her style is very informal.Which is great for working with our community!Nevetheless, I think it is important for Silvie to hone her facilitating skills, and try and use some other forms of disseminating information. It doesn't have to be powerpoint but maybe a bit more board work or something? To really ensure information sinks in? It would also be great if in future training she remembers to regularly reiterate, repeat and check whether participants understand. Constant review is extremely important. It is also good to slow your speech down and remember to read the audience to gauge whether or not they are following what she is saying. One VERY crucial thing she forgot is "3 Pilar PP". The 3 key concepts. That is vital. In December we want to hold another PP for PSP and one for ibu rumah tangga. It would be great if Silvie could take this input on board to implement for the next upcoming trainings, because working with ibu rumah tangga will be very different to PSP. This could be a great opportunity to improve her skills to apply in other contexts. That being said, we would also love to have Liana back and know she would be able to handle ibu rumah tangga no problem!!!I am back in Australia from the 20th but the week before and a bit reluctant to commit to much, so should we plan on holding the next round the first or second week of December? Please find attached some photos of our experience,Thanks,Warm regards,Emilymaaf dalam bahasa inggris...otakku agak hang hari ini...hehe....ps. Silvie shared about a new facebook group "GERAKAN ANTI ARV (GETAR)" which is run by those who are suspicious of ARV etc. She told us that the majority of people in that group have died. So, one of the participants said "why not make a new group "GERAKAN TERATUR ARV (GETAR)". That amused us all.
