Borobudur is a Hindu – Budhist temple. It was built in the ninth century under Syailendra dynasty of ancient Mataram Kingdom. Borobudur is located in Magelang, central Java, Indonesia.
It is well-known all over the world for its construstion influenced by the Gupta architecture of India. The temple is constructed on a hill 46 m high and consists of eight level terraces. The first five terraces are squared and surrounded by walls adorned with Buddhist sculpture and reliefs. The upper three are circular. Each of them is with a circle if bells called stupa.
The distance from the bottom to the top extends through some 4.8 km of passage and stairways. The design of Borobudur which symbolizez the structure of universe is similar to temples in Angkor.

Hal ini terkenal di seluruh dunia untuk construstion yang dipengaruhi oleh arsitektur Gupta dari India. Candi ini dibangun di atas bukit 46 m tinggi dan terdiri dari delapan teras tingkat. Lima teras pertama dikuadratkan dan dikelilingi oleh dinding yang dihiasi dengan patung Buddha dan relief. Bagian atas tiga adalah lingkaran. Masing-masing adalah dengan lingkaran jika lonceng disebut stupa.
Jarak dari bawah ke atas meluas melalui beberapa 4,8 km dari bagian dan tangga. Desain Borobudur yang symbolizez struktur alam semesta mirip dengan candi-candi di Angkor.
