2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport debuts in LA with minor changesAfter a teaser released at the beginning of the month, Mitsubishi has introduced in Los Angeles a mildly revised 2016 Outlander Sport that has several tweaks inside and out.New for the 2016 model year is the revised corporate “Dynamic Shield” front fascia along with lightly modified side mirror caps with LED turn indicator lamps. It sits on a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels and has updated lip wheel moldings while on the inside there’s a new steering wheel, different seat fabrics, and a new panel design for air conditioning. More importantly, Mitsubishi has improved the 6.1-inch Display Audio System and installed an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink functionality.The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will come with a generous array of standard equipment, including power windows with driver's one-touch up/down, rear privacy glass, keyless entry, soft-touch instrument panel trim, and 60/40 split folding and reclining high-back rear seats featuring cup holders and an armrest.You will be able to get the Outlander Sport with the base inline-four 2.0-liter engine rated at 148 bhp (110 kW) and 145 lb-ft (196 Nm) or with the larger 2.4-liter developing 168 bhp (125 kW) and 167 lb-ft (226 Nm). Depending on engine choice and trim, Mitsubishi is offering a five-speed manual gearbox and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).On the safety side, all cars get as standard seven airbags, hill start assist and Active Stability Control (ASC) with Traction Control Logic (TCL). The brand's best-selling CUV will also have without any extra costs a tire pressure monitoring system and an engine immobilizer anti-theft security alarm system.
Despite the revisions, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will continue to carry a starting price of $19,595.
