The two other nuclear Pols, Pol I and Pol III, synthesize only
untranslated RNAs. Thus, the fidelity of their transcription may be
of even greater importance for the cell; however, their fidelity has
not been examined. Elongation complexes of Pol I appear to
contain a dissociable TFIIS-like activity (24). On the other hand,
Pol III appears to be unique, because, unlike Pol I and II, it has a
high intrinsic RNA-cleavage activity that does not require an
accessory factor (16)
