You can just use brown rice flour and water and pc just like you would agar. MEA dish is on left BRF and water pc'd on right. The user who came up with this posted " I use brown rice flour as agar. You'll see when it's the right consistency. Kinda like pancake mix - perhaps a tiny bit thicker.

Spoon a couple spoonsful into a petri dish or a half pint jar. Rock gently till it covers the bottom very thinly. Then pressure cook.
