cambodia has seen progress in recent years in the field of the eye health and avoidable blindess. trough the support of the avoidable blindess initiative, vision 2020 australia global consortiums programs are accessible to, and inclusive of, a people with a range of disabilities. CBM australia and the university of Melbourne's nossal institute for global health, have trained staff at Cambodia takeo's eye hospital and conducted workshop and disability inclusive practices with the national program for the eye health. the takeo hospital has adopted university design principle, including installing ramps. this aligns with the australia's boarder work in physical accesbility design guide. as the result this proactive approach, last year also saw around four per cent of patient reporting hearing or other impairements.
a manual for disability inclusive pratice in eye health has been translated and distributed to local health centers in the takeo province and will be ressuied in 2013
