Land Rover released a teaser image
Land Rover released a teaser image showing the front end of the all-new 2017 Discovery, the company’s full-sized, seven-seat SUV.
Essentially the production version of the Discovery Vision concept, the new Land Rover Discovery stays faithful to the design we first saw at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The new Disco, as Brits call it, will sit above the Discovery Sport in the range and will be based upon the Range Rover’s aluminum platform, making it a lot lighter than its predecessor whose weight figure could be compared to that of a small planet.
“The new Discovery redefines the large SUV”, said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer. “Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionised the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV.”
Land Rover will reportedly offer the new Discovery with their Ingenium family of engines while other reports suggest that this will be the first model in the brand’s lineup to gain a special SVX off-road version.
The world premiere of the new Land Rover Discovery is scheduled for September 28, ahead of the Paris Motor Show.
