Post 9/11 terrorist attack, US military foreign policy focused onfacilitating establishment of democracy in Middle East as a fundamental basein Global War on Terrorism. This policy had been implemented till the war inIraq was ended in August 2010 and followed by the transition process inAfghanistan government which started in early 2011. After that, US closed itsmilitary bases and withdrew its military personnel from Middle East Regiongradually. In November 2011, US government announced that US wouldchange its military foreign policy focus where Asia Pacific region became themain priority. The result indicates that this policy is made due to the rising ofChina and its possibility of becoming a potential hegemony which can endangerUS position in Asia Pacific. In supporting its objective to do power projection,China has been developing its military power with high technology and widerange of attack capacity that possible to create anti-access/ area denial (A2/AD)towards Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) in Asia Pacific. It cause Chinaestimated as a potential threat to the security and freedom of access in SLOCswhich is vital for US interest. This situation leads US to project and strengthenits military power through creating and enhancing its military alliances withAsia Pacific countries.
