Avoid Being a Perfectionist

Even though we focus primarily on the 20% we may not be able to avoid the 80%. We still may have to take the time to complete these tasks. But if we apply the Pareto principle we are not going to want to waste too much time on the 80%. Instead of stressing out about having to do the task perfectly, we may be content with good enough. We instead give most of our focus on the 20%.

As direct marketing guru, Dan Kennedy, says, “Good is good enough.”

Of course we will spend more time on the 20%, so we will try to accomplish these tasks thoroughly, because they will reap the greatest results.  So we can see how the 80/20 rule truly does play an important role in effective time management.
