Redfeathers slipped out of the sack and put a stone in her place, then she too ran off. When the dove saw that her friend was safe, she flew up into a tree. The fox then went back and picked up the sack, thinking that the hen was still in it. When he got home tthe fox tipped the sack into the pot of boiling water, but the stone splashed it all over him and the burned his greedy paws

Redfeathers menyelinap keluar dari karung dan menempatkan batu di tempatnya, maka dia juga lari. Ketika burung merpati itu melihat bahwa temannya itu aman, ia terbang ke pohon. Rubah kemudian kembali dan mengambil karung, berpikir bahwa ayam yang masih ada di dalamnya. Ketika ia sampai di rumah rubah tthe tip karung ke dalam panci air mendidih, tapi batu menyiramkannya seluruh tubuhnya dan membakar kaki serakah
