In order to find out the managerial empowerment activities (behavioralempowerment) the empowerment scale developed by Niehoffet al.(2001) was used.In addition, a questionnaire with 27 statements was formed, referring to theempowerment scales used in the studies in the literature (Cacioppe, 1998; Dobbs, 1993;Kanter, 1993; King and Ehrhard, 1996; Laschingeret al., 2004; Spreitzer, 1995, 1996)and also referring to the information provided in the related literature. TheIJCHM23,6788questionnaire included statements about the distribution of information and resources,authority and responsibility, participation, reliability and employee support, jobenrichment, motivation, communication, teamwork, training, learning, rewarding andfeedback. The construct validity of the questionnaire has been tested because thequestionnaire is made up of the statements used in other studies in the literature. Forthat reason, to identify the employees’ perceptions of psychological empowerment,Spreitzer’s (1995, 1996), “psychological empowerment perception” inventory was used.The inventory for psychological empowerment has 12 statements, consisting of threestatements for each dimension and covering titles such as value, sufficiency, choice-free will and influence. The questionnaires were designed in accordance with five-pointLikert scales.
