How do I download an asset and all its associated asset files with the minimum of fuss
A. Downloading from the Download Station:
Go to the Download Station (http://www.auran.com/trainz/downloadst.htm)

Login (Top right corner of page)

Now you can either search via Categories or Text queries

Category Search (Left Section of the 'Download Station Searches' box)
In the top Selection box (SP3 / UTC displayed above) select either ALL download or the specific type of download you wish to find. Note: By selecting ALL, will show you the latest downloads first.
Text Search (Right Section of the 'Download Station Searches' box)
Here you can search by either a Downloads Title, KUID or Username (uploader) with a combination of category.

Note: Try to make your searches broad at first then narrow them down by using the categories.


Results Page:
After searching you will either have a list of results or a message telling you no results were found, if this occurs try narrowing your search, by either using less filters or categories selections.

Find the file you wish to download.

There are two alternatives:
Click on "View Pack", and Download the Pack.
If there is no "View Pack" button, click on the 'Download' link. This will open up a pop-up window at the download page or a login page, if you receive a login page, login and you will be taken to the download page.


Download Page:
The top section is where you will have the download link unless there are currently too many connections and you will receive the message 'The maximum number of connections to our download server has been reached, this page will try to reconnect in 30 seconds.' The page will refresh and try to reconnect every 30 seconds, once it can connect it will automatically start to download 5 seconds after the page reloads or when you click on the download link.

Dependencies:
If a download requires extra files it will list them under the Dependencies. To Add them all to your Cart use the 'Add to DLCart' function.

How to utilise the “add to dlcart” facility

The Download Cart is currently a holding facility where you can go through the Download Station, add the files you wish to download to your cart then download them at a later date. This is so you do not have to continually go back to the download station to select files. Also at present you can only download one files at a time, extra functionality for the Download Cart are planned to be added at a later date. To download all items in your download cart, login to Planet Auran, click on Downloads, and download each item.

How to install CDP files

Files downloaded from the Download Station are CDP files. To read about CDP files, and how to install them, click on read below.

Q. What are CDP files?
A. CDP files are packaged Trainz content - usually made by the community. When Trainz is installed these files associate to Content Dispatcher and can be easily installed into Trainz by double clicking on the file.

Q. How do I install CDP files?
A. If you are not running UTC, you will need to have the Trainz v1.3 Content Update Pack installed to be able to run the CDP files. You can download this upgrade from the Content Creation page of the Trainz website. Once you have installed the Pack, the CDP files will automatically install into the correct folder when run.

Q. Content from Download Station will not work with my version of Trainz?
A. This requires downloading and installing the Trainz V1.3 Content Update Pack, which you can obtain here. You only need to download this file if you have not installed UTC.

Q. What is a KUID?
A. KUID stands for Koolthingz Unique IDentifier. A KUID is a serial number that is allocated to all content of Trainz and can be thought of much like a bar code. The KUID takes the form of numbers separated by a colon. The number to the left is the user ID of the content creator.
