• WHY is this drug prescribed?
Simethicone is used to treat the symptoms of gas such as uncomfortable or painful pressure, fullness, and bloating.

• WHEN should it be used?
Simethicone usually is taken four times a day, after meals and at bedtime. It also may be taken as neccessary or as directed by your doctor. Follow the directions on the label carefully, and ask your pharmacist or doctor to explain any part that you do not understand.

• HOW should it be used?
Simethicone comes in tablets, chewable tablets, capsules, and oral liquid form. The label tells you how much to take at each dose.
Chewable tablets should be chewed thoroughly before being swallowed. Do not swallow them whole.
The liquid is to be taken by mouth only, even though it is a dropper bottle. Shake the bottle well before using.
Follow the markings on the dropper to measure each dose.

• WHAT SPESIAL INTRUCTIONS should i follow while using this drug?
Do not take more than 500 mg of simethicone each day unless directed otherwise by your doctor.

• WHAT should i do IF I FORGET to take a dose?
If you are taking simethicone on a regular schedule , take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Take any remaining doses for that day at the regulary scheduled times. However, if you remember the missed dose when it is time for your next scheduled dose, take only the scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose.

• WHAT SIDE EFFECT can this drug cause? What can i do about them?
When taken as directed, simethicone usually is without side effects.

• WHAT OTHER PRECAUTIONS should i follow while using this drug?
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor before taking this medication.

• WHAT STORAGE CONDITIONS are necessary for this drug?
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of the reach of children. Store it at room temperature, away from beat, moisture (not in the bathroom), and direct light.
