2016 Ducati Diavel Carbon Is a Darkened Beast from Hell

Ducati shows the new, 2016 model year Diavel Carbon, the most menacing and darkened version of the muscle bike Borgo Panigale introduced fairly recently. If you know what the Carbon trim stands for when it comes to the Diavel, you know you must expect a bike with merciless looks, and the 2016 incarnation will not disappoint you.

For the next season, Ducati prepared a most interesting combination of black tones and brushed surfaces, accented by grey areas and few shiny stainless steel or aluminium parts. The result is a bike that looks compact and evil, while retaining the traditional powercruiser stance that's impossible to mistake for anything else.

At the heart of the new Diavel Carbon lies the latest generation Testastretta 11° DS engine that puts up to 162 horsepower at the disposal of the bold rider, but tames them by means of ABS, the Ducati Traction Control System and also offers Sport, Touring, Urban riding modes.

Marchesini supplied Ducati with new rims that are forged turned and milled, finished in Dark Chrome paint, just like the tubular trellis frame, but with machined accents to match the exhausts.

Carbon fiber and matte Zircotec ceramic coating go hand in hand

The collectors of the 2016 Diavel Carbon follow the darkened recipe and boast a matte Zircotec ceramic coating that makes a neat contrast with the shine of the brushed stainless steel covers of the dual silencer array. The fenders share the matt finish, and beautifully complement the carbon tank cover and rear seat cover.

With a 50mm fork, and a massive headlight cluster, the Diavel retains the commanding stance that made it famous, while the all-LED lighting elements enhance the futuristic approach to two-wheeled fun.
