Obviously, it is desired that FR-additives have a negligible or ideally bene cial effect on the mechanical properties of the polymer to which they are blended. Depending on the desired application, the poly-phosphonate-induced depression of mechanical properties of blends developed herein are likely minimal enough – especially at the lower polyphosphonate loadings – to warrant their use.
