Goodbye Magic

This is a sad farewell especially for me.
Like everything that has beginning, there will be time for its ending. Very soon, I will resign from Magic.

After more than 30 years in the art of Magic, this is not an easy decision to make. But I have to. I have shared my thought to resign to my closest friends but this is the first time I am announcing it to the public.

A few celebrities announced their resignation for sensation. Singers said they quit singing only to get back to it not long after. That is a cheap sensation. Mine is not going to be like that. I am not looking for a SENSATION. Resigning from Magic is my final DECISION.

So what does that entail for? It means I have to cancel THREE television contracts and NINETEEN off-air shows; pre-scheduled for 2016.

The industry consider me to be at the top rank; the most wanted, the most famous in Indonesia, and most expensive in Asia. It is exactly while I am at the top like this, I would like to Stop.... and bid my Goodbye. It is not an easy decision.. But here are my explanation...

1. Being a Magician is not easy. It needs a lot of concentration and dedication.. I had to practice everyday.. Sometimes I practiced day and night for just one new trick. It is time consuming too because every detail count.. At my age, I prefer to spend quality time with my Son.. He is my Magic. My Real Magic. He deserves my time more than my Art. I love him more than anything.

2. As long as I still do Magic, the growth of young magicians will be stunted and their career can not bloom to meet its fullest. The television industry look for me. High-profile clients book me. The news and entertaintment write posts about me.. MASTER DEDDY CORBUZIER - they say.. The new comers do not get the opportunity while I am here. It is time for the young magicians to showcase their talent. And if you are one, I will support you as much as I can.

3. I have many passion in my life.. Magic is only one of them.. Do you know that I love to cook? I also practice three types of Martial Arts. I have world record for knives throwing, I love to write books and I taught acting and theater before.. I still have more to mention. Some of them got buried and forgotten... It is time now to reunite with the rest of my passion.

I have appeared in countless of television shows since 1998 to date. Life is so FUN with Magic and it has given a fame to my name. To think about it, I the boy who once lived in hardships now have grown to be a man who can have anything he wants.

I am Magic and I will always be. But at the same time, it is time to sail the unchartered water.

So..
Soon I will be performing in my Last Show which also will be aired on TV. I will keep update on the details and I hope everyone will be watching.

Once that done.. I'm off.
I will lay down my Magic hat and stick and keep the beautiful memories deep within.

Being a magician at heart, I might still do a show or two when I feel like it. Or maybe on a special event that has impact on world peace I might also coach the young magicians, judge competitions or others.

One thing for sure, Magic will not be my main career anymore. I will only do it for fun. I will do it when I want to do it.

Magic will always be in my Blood. Magic has made me what I am now.. And I owe it to you too, my Fans.. my supporters.. You have stayed with me for more than 25 years... Thank you so much.

For now.. Please wish me for a chance to find other forms of Magic in my life.
