If you aren't getting audio when you play a video file, please try following these steps:


1) Perform a clean install of the software.
1. Completely uninstall GOM Media Player from your system.
2. Restart your computer. This is important in making sure all uninstalled files are removed completely.
3. Download the latest version of GOM Media Player from the link below:

4. Re-install the software


2) Download and install the FFDSHOW codec
FFDSHOW codec supports many different audio and video formats and also enhances the audio quality.

3) Click the [Find Codec] button!
If the Codec Finder window pops up when you try to play a file, try clicking the [Find Codec] button and then downloading and installing the recommended codec.

If clicking the [Find Codec] button returns a "Codec Not Found" page, or if installing the recommended codec doesn't solve the issue, play the file again and click the [Show Details] button when the Codec Finder window appears. Copy and paste the displayed information into an email to the Support Center.

4) If possible, send the File Playback Info to the Support Center, along with [Show Details] information and some specific details about the file that plays without audio.
1. Launch GOM Media Player
2. Play one of the files that is giving you problems
3. Push Ctrl + F1
4. Click the [Copy to clipboard] button
5. Paste the copied content into your email reply

Along with the File Playback information, provide as much information about the the file as possible. This includes the type of file (.mp4, .mkv, .mp3, etc), how you created or acquired the file, the make and model of any device used to create the file, the name and version of any software used to create or download the file, your system information, and any other information regarding the circumstances under which the issue occurs.

The more information you provide to the Support Center, the faster they can investigate the problem and present you with some suggestions and possible solutions.
