・Foreign Government ScholarshipForeign government scholarships are a further scholarship option. As of May, 2013, there are students at Kyoto University from Brunei, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia and Vietnam receiving such scholarships. For further information on application periods and benefits, please contact the appropriate agency in your country.・Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan)International students who are accepted by a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement between the Japanese host university and their home university abroad are eligible to apply for the Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan provided by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of ¥80,000 during the period of stay in Japan.Applications should be made via exchange program coordinator of the student's home university to International Education and Student Mobility Division of Kyoto University. Direct application from students to either Kyoto University or JASSO will not be accepted.・Scholarship for Privately-Financed International StudentsSome private foundations' scholarships accept applications from prospective student who have gained admissions to the university. A few of them accept applications only through the applicant's university. For details, please contact the relevant graduate school administration office.
