Good morning ladies and gentleman, the honorable judges, and to all my beloved friends. First of all, I would like to say thank you to our almighty God Allah SWT, because of his bless we can meet each other to discuss the recent issues that involving us as an Indonesia citizens. And I also want to say thank you for the opportunity to deliver my speech. Today, my speech title is “Preparation of Indonesia to faced the AEC 2015 in Socio Culture”
Ladies and gentleman,
The year of 2015 is a year that would give some effects for every country in ASEAN, especially in economic side. That year, the fate of a country in ASEAN will be specified whether it will transform to an advance country or still being a developing country. The existence of Asean Free Trade Area ( AFTA ) and Asean Economic Community ( AEC ) will become the parameter for that case. AFTA and AEC are multilateral treaty by ASEAN in economy. So, do you know the difference between AFTA and AEC? AFTA ( Asean Free Trade Area ) is a gate that open the trade route of selling and buying between countries in ASEAN which give free tax. AEC ( Asean Economic Community ) opens widely the trade route to export and import products and services like professional workers or investment among countries in ASEAN which give free tax too, it is the same like AFTA.

As we know that, economy has become a part of our life. Economy is one of the social science that studies about human activities associated with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Human as social and economy being basically always faced the economy problem. The economy problem is a fact that our needs are unlimited but the products which we need are limited. This is became one of the reason why Indonesia participates in AEC. AEC shall be the goal of regional economic integration started in 2015. AEC has 4 goals:
a. Become single market and production base
b. Become highly competitive economic region
c. Become a region of equitable economic development
d. Become a region fully integrated into the global economy
Ladies and gentleman
In this occasion, I will explain about what government have been prepared for people in Indonesia to face the AEC 2015 from the socio culture side. Why I am choosing socio culture, here are the explanation. Because “socio and culture” it have 2 different words. Socio means how we can socialize with others and increase our ability to perform, so we can compete with other country. Culture is an important thing of a country, because, the richness of a country can count with how much the cultures of the country has and also the uniqueness of that country.
The relation of socio culture and AEC is, for example, in our daily life if we have something to do, we have to make a good plan or preparation. Because if we do not have, it means that we put our self in difficult situation or in this case, we put our country in difficult situation. So, through socio culture, we must support government program to increase our human resources so that Indonesia can compete with the other country and we as Indonesia citizens must keep and conserve our original culture.
And now, I will explain about the government preparation’s :
Guided by pasal 32 ayat 1 says “ Negara memajukan kebudayaan nasional Indonesia di tengah peradaban dunia dengan menjamin kebebasan masyarakat dalam memelihara dan mengembangkan nilai-nilai budayanya” and Tap.MPR No.6/MPR/2001 about socio culture:
1. Government doing an internalization about culture in Indonesia since young age trough educational system at school. From elementary school until senior high school there is one lesson about culture in Indonesia. It shows that government wants to make Indonesian people know about original culture in their country. So, when there is a free market like AEC, people in Indonesia can be more wisely to choose which product is appropriate and which one is not appropriate with the original culture in Indonesia. Because, of course, in AEC there is a recognition towards foreign cultures.
So, the culture in Indonesia not fade along modernization caused by the flow of free market.

2. Formatting program BLKI ( Balai Latihan Kerja Industri ). The purpose of this program is to improve human resources in Indonesia, which have been recorded in pasal 34 ayat 2 “ Negara mengembangkan system jaminan social bagi seluruh rakyat dan memberdayakan masyarakat yang lemah dan tidak mampu sesuai dengan martabat kemanusiaan”. As we know that, title of person indicates that the person has high ability. The Indonesian companies usually put the requirement of education as the main requirement. The job applicants are expected to have minimum education or university graduated. How about people who have high willingness to work but do not have an enough money to get that title and the ability still need more trained and sharpened? With BLKI program, people who just graduated in elementary school or junior high school but they have high willingness to work can trained in BLKI so their ability developing in order. This program is one of the government program that can give good impact for life of Indonesia citizens. The goal of this program is to make Indonesian labor, especially industrial labor, have a good ability and competitiveness labor through training, certification of competence and displacement of labor. With this program, hopefully people in Indonesia can compete with the other country in ASEAN through AEC started in 2015.

3. Then, by curriculum 2013, government added one new lesson to increase the creativity of society since young ages. The lesson is, usually we called “kewirausahaan”. The lesson is usually learnt in Vocational School, but in curriculum 2013 that lesson must be learnt for all students in Senior High School. This program is to make Indonesian can increase their creativity since young ages. This is really important in preparation of AEC, because it can make our local product compete with product from the other country. For example, if someone give you two bags, the one is our local product and the other one is product from other country like Channel, Gucci, or Furla, which one you want to choose? Believe me that you will choose the import product and most of Indonesian do that. Through this program, the next generation of this country have to make something new and increase the quality of local product and also with cheaper price. So, we can compete with product from other country.

4. Giving scholarship in educational system. Have you ever heard about “Beasiswa Kaltim Cemerlang”? That program by government giving for people who don’t have an enough money to school, for people who win in a competition, or for people who want to school in other country, but it has some regulations. This program can increase human resources because people can be motivated to increase their ability and quality to the better future. Indonesia first president said “ Give me 10 youths, we will take off Semeru Mountain. Give me 100 youths, we will shake the world” he clearly stated how important youth to make change in this world.

Based on that programs to improve human resources are some of the way for preparation Indonesia to face AEC 2015. Citizens are main target in AEC. Based on data of APO ( ASEAN Productivity Organization ) from 1.000 labors in Indonesia, there are just 4.3% labors who have great skill. It shown that our human resources still low. If our human resources better than now, it can open the opportunity for Indonesia to join in AEC 2015. Because, human resources is one of the important factor that should be strengthened in Indonesia. Human resources is the most influential in developmental of a country. We can see another country like Japan, which have good human resources. Every people in Japan always hard work, searching some innovation, and they do anything for their country. So, as we can see, their country become as an advance country because the citizens want to participate to develop their country. We can learn and applied that in our country.

ASEAN population in 2012 reached 600 million people with gross domestic product of 2.1 million dollars. That number indicates the great potential of ASEAN to be seized by investors. But also, a challenge. Why? because if we are not ready then the product of other countries in ASEAN will invade Indonesia. Today, as we can see, so many products imported into Indonesia.

This integration of economy in ASEAN can became an opportunity for Indonesia. Indonesia predicted that became a country with the seventh largest economy by 2030 and about 43% people in ASEAN are located in Indonesia. It means that Indonesia become a greatest main market in AEC, actually. This fact and prediction of the future, provide fresh air in the building optimism Indonesia citizens for the future. So, Indonesia should be ready to confront the AEC in 2015. Due to the existence of AEC in 2015, Indonesia society indirectly required for creativity against in order to compete with the other countries in ASEAN.

This remaining time and keeping only a few more months should be utilized as well as possible by government and we as citizens must support program by government as preparation for the AEC in 2015. The hardest challenges to be faced is not a barrier if a dream have become a breath for Indonesia. Challenges for Indonesia is to create meaningful change to the lives of citizens. Hopefully, all Indonesia people can help to realize the worth economic and social life, so that we can compete in the ASEAN Economic Community ( AEC ) by 2015. My Message for Indonesia is “ Nothing is difficult to those who have the will”
