This is the best way to get fast results. They’re not guaranteed, and it’s not for everyone, but if you want to skip the basics and just dive right in, this is how to do it..Will this be your first Lucid Dream?Something to consider before we dive in is whether this is your first lucid dream or not. If you’ve done this before, and are just looking for a way to speed the process up and get results quicker, then that’s fine, read on.If you’re looking for a way to lucid dream tonight and it’s your very first one, (how exciting!) then we just need to explain a couple of things.Lucid Dreaming is very intense, and the experience is different for everyone. If you don’t want to try it, then don’t.It’s no more dangerous than just going to sleep normally, but emotionally, you may experience things you aren’t prepared for.Examples of this include becoming lucid, willing a ‘lost relative or friend’ to appear, and then being distressed or emotionally unstable when you wake up. It’s not very common, but just be aware that you will be aware in the dream, and it will seem very real to you.We need to just explain this sort of thing to people who are just starting so they don’t get a nasty shock. So, let’s get to the good stuff already, you want to know how to lucid dream tonight, with as little waiting as possible. Okay! How To Lucid Dream TonightTo start with, do some basic prep, get your room nice and clean, make sure there won’t be any light coming into the room from computer screens etc later, get the room as dark as possible when you go to sleep. We should mention at this point, that the method shown here is going to involve waking up a little bit earlier than you normally do, only for a few seconds, it’s literally to just wake up your mind. You won’t need to get out of bed, don’t worry. For the scientists/technical people among you, the method is called the ‘Wake Back To Bed Technique‘, and as the name suggests it involves setting an alarm, ‘waking up’ your mind and then going back to bed. There are very good reasons for this; your brain is most active during REM sleep, which happens a couple of hours before you wake up naturally. If you have time, maybe go to the shop and get some basic dream aids such as incense, pillow spray, background noise etc. If you don’t have time, then try and learn some basic relaxation techniques. (You can find these things on myLucid dreaming tools page). You want to be as relaxed as possible later on.Step 1 – Spend the rest of the day reading about Lucid DreamingSo this is where we’ll start. For the rest of the day until you go to bed, think about lucid dreaming. Read about it, talk to your friends about it, think about what you’re going to do in your lucid dream. The key is to get yourself focused on what you’re about to do.If you’ve never done this before, make sure to read lucid dreaming stories from other people who have done it, to get the feel of what you’re in for. Read about their experiences and try and imagine what yours will be like. The Dreaming Blogis a good place to start..Step 2 – Do lots of ‘Reality Checks’Right this second, as you’re reading this, draw a small ‘A’ on your palm.
This means ‘awake’ and whenever you see this, (which should be a fair few times) ask yourself ‘Am I dreaming?’.
This is called a reality check.
We have more information onreality checks if you want to read, but for now, just ask yourself ‘Am I Dreaming’ as many times as you possibly can until you go to sleep. Really ask yourself the question as well, think about it and where you were 10 minutes ago, to make sure you’re not dreaming.
The more times you do this the better your chances are of lucid dreaming tonight. Ask the question really clearly to yourself, and ‘prove to yourself that you’re awake’ by trying to push your finger through your other palm.
