Redesigned 2017 Chevy Trax starts at $21,895
The compact crossover has a fresh look and new equipment.
After debuting the updated 2017 Chevrolet Trax earlier this year, the company reveals that the refreshed model starts at $21,895, which includes $895 destination. The base LS trim is front-wheel drive, and it runs $23,395 with all-wheel drive. They arrive at dealers this fall.
Upgrading to the LT or new Premier trim, which replaces the LTZ, adds halogen projector headlamps with LED running lights. The LT starts at $23,795 or $25,295 for the all-wheel drive version. The Premier also gets leatherette seating, improved interior trim, and 18-inch wheels. It starts at $26,995 and tops out at $28,495 with all-wheel drive.
All trims of the updated Trax have a new look with an updated front end that includes a dual port grille and new headlights. At the rear, there are smaller changes to the bumper and taillights. Inside, drivers find a new instrument panel and an available seven-inch MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The little crossover has more safety tech, too. Even base models get a rearview camera. There also optional systems like Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Departure Warning.
The powertrain remains the same. The Trax still uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with 138 horsepower (102 kilowatts) and 148 pound-feet (200 Newton-meters) of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox is the only available transmission.

Trax sales through July this year are up nearly 25 percent to more than 38,600. July sales rose nearly 55 percent to 9,466.
