Cognitive strategies that support learning sometimes called learning strategies. These are the same skills that we have seen in our expanded instructional events, which instructional designers explicitly planned to require or encourage. Cognitive strategies that we call think the strategy is of a different type than previously discussed in this book. We have described this thinking strategy as "generic problem solving skills" Troubleshooting common of these skills from different thinking strategies of domain-specific problem solving is discussed in chapter 12. In this chapter, we will discuss the nature of the two strategies for learning and thinking strategies, and how both learning and thinking strategies can be taught so they are in the repertoire of learner and available for use. We will give more attention to learning strategies, especially since they have more clearly delineated and related strategies insructional they have proved more successful than the more common strategy of thinking. We will cover integration into an expanded instructional events and a lesson to learn strategies only.
