RESULTS
The GMD was greater for hard wheat than for corn
(998, 1,111, and 1,250 µm for wheat and 774, 922, and
1,165 µm for corn passed through 6-, 8-, and 10-mm
screens, respectively; Table 2). However, the percentage
of coarse particles (>2,500 µm) was greater for the diets
based on corn than for the diets based on durum wheat (average of the 3 diets of 10.44 and 4.76%, respectively;
Table 3). The percentage of coarse particles (>2,500
µm) increased as the size of the screen increased (average
of 2.32, 6.13, and 14.37% for diets based on cereal
ground with 6-, 8-, and 10-mm screens, respectively).
