People-powered campaigns on Change.org has completely shifted the way we see change in Indonesia. The platform has been used to save forests, fight corruption, and eliminate discrimination. People are starting to realise one thing: that change, is possible!
Since we started in Indonesia on June 2012, our user base have exploded from 8,000 to almost half of million in the beginning of 2014. With tens of thousands experiencing victories!
However, we have only scratched the surface of what is the potential of fundamental change in Indonesia, where no one is powerless, and creating change is a part of everyday life.
To make this happen, we are trying to find people to join our great team in Indonesia. We need people that are creative, professional, and highly competent. But more importantly we are looking for people that are passionate about helping others create the change they they want to see.

As Communications Manager you will take play an important rolling in helping people who use the site to profile their campaigns in the media and in building and strengthening our brand in Indonesia.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting all press, messaging and external communications around Indonesian campaigns.
Strengthening our brand in the country, and helping to establish Change.org as the central open platform for social change in Indonesia.
Identifying promising grassroots campaigns started by users in Indonesia on local, regional, national or global issues. You’ll help these campaigns win by providing strategic and conducting media outreach.
Helping designing and execute rapid-response social change advocacy campaigns in partnership with other stakeholders, with the potential for explosive growth and swift victories.
Identifying and executing on strategies and tactics to tell compelling stories of success, people power, and impact through Change.org in the media.
Helping establishing and maintain deep partnerships with established media outlets, influential online outlets, celebrities and social media leaders and bloggers.
Engaging with different content publishers (i.e. print media, broadcast media, online media etc) to communicate campaign messages and organisational communications.
Collaborating with a global team of campaigns and communications experts to help shape the direction of Change.org internationally.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong ideas on how to use communications, media and storytelling to win local, national and international campaigns - and a willingness to take risks, to fail, and to adapt.
A good understanding of campaigning and a commitment to our mission of empowering people to win campaigns on the critical issues of our times.
A good understanding of the media landscape in Indonesia (regional and provincial media knowledge included).
Good understanding of messaging and framing, and the judgment to repeatedly find the right message to engage Change.org members, campaign targets, journalists and other stakeholders.
You should enjoy working in an online environment, using social media and collaborating using online tools.
Strong rapport-building and relationship skills. Ideally you already have a wide range of contacts in the media area.
Initiative and a can-do attitude across a variety of campaign issue areas.
Exceptional writing skills in Indonesia.
Professional fluency in written and spoken English.

Normally, Communications Managers will have relevant experience in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Campaigning – but if you make up for lack of experience with passion and a willingness to learn quickly, you should still apply.
Besides the Communications Manager role, we are also looking for someone to fill the Communications Director role. The core difference between these two roles is seniority and experience, with the Communications Director role involving substantially more leadership, strategy, accountability and over time, management.
