[Salinan]Disalin!
The weekend got over and Monday arrived. Jalal got up and smiled. His entire weekend had passed thinking about his time with Jodha. He got up and had a bath. He wore his favourite Armani suit and met Ammijaan at the breakfast table.
Jalal - Good morning, Ammijaan
Ammijaan - Good morning, beta. Kya hua, itne khush kyun lag rahe ho?
Jalal - Nothing, it's just that it is a beautiful morning that's all
Ammijaan knew that something was different. Jalal had been happy the entire weekend and her eyes had caught that. He was her son after all; she could notice even a small difference in his behaviour. But she did not ask him anything else, because she knew that he would not divulge anything to her. Jalal ate his breakfast and was ready to leave for office.
Jalal - Ammijaan, I am leaving. I will be back by evening
Ammijaan - Okay, beta. But please call up if you get late. Please don't do what you did on Friday.
Jalal - Okay, you don't worry, bye
Ammijaan - Bye, beta. (to herself) - Ya Allah! Please protect my son, always. I don't know what is going on in his mind, but please guide him down the right path.
Jalal sat in his chauffeured car to go to office. The chauffeur was driving the car. He suddenly stopped.
Jalal - Kya hua? Gaadi rok kyun di?
Chauffeur - Aage traffic hai sir, aaj koi party ki rally hone wali hai. Lagta hai doosra raasta lena padega
Jalal - Haa theek hai tum sirf gaadi aage badhaao
Jodha, who came by train, reached office soon. She punched-in for the day. She entered the reception area. She greeted Ruqaiyya and was heading towards Jalal's cabin where she met Salima.
Jodha - Oh Salima! Good morning! How was the weekend?
Salima - It was great! How was yours?
Jodha - Haan achcha tha. Mr President ke cabin ki lights kyun bandh hai?
Salima - He has not arrived yet. He called me up saying that he is stuck in trafiic and will try to reach as soon as possible. He told me to tell all the employees reporting to him, to report to the Vice President, Adham Khan today
Jodha - Okay thank you so much for that! I'll go and report to him rightaway
Jodha leaves from there and heads to Adham's cabin. She knocks on the door and Adham tells her to come in.
Jodha - Good morning, sir. I am Jodha Singh, manager of the Marketing department. I was supposed to report to you today since Mr President has not arrived yet
Adham - Oh yeah, I got a call from Jalal. Please take a seat
Jodha - Actually sir, I had to just report to you. So, I will take my leave
Adham - Arre baith jaao na!
Jodha did not argue further. She pulled out one of the chairs and sat on it.
Adham - So, what would you like, tea, coffee or me?
Jodha was shocked at what Adham had said. She knew he was trying to hit on her. She got up.
Jodha - Sir, I think I should leave. I have to complete some important work
Adham got up from his chair and stood in front of her. He was grinning widely and was looking at Jodha's face. Jodha, on the other hand, was looking down. She didn't want to look at him.
Adham - Why are you feeling so shy? Don't you like me?
Jodha didn't answer. She wanted to get out of the cabin at that instant.
Adham - Oh God! You are so shy! But I find that attractive in a woman!
Then Adham tried to touch her face. Jodha dodged his hand and ran out of his cabin. Adham kept grinning.
Adham - Hmm...so she ran away. She is the first woman who has not thrown herself on me, which is interesting. What is her name again? Haan, Jodha. Jodha! I will make you fall for me!
Jodha reached her working desk. She was still shaken up by the events that occurred in Adham's cabin. Her heart was beating fast. She sat down and drank some water. She finally calmed down.
Jodha (to herself) - What was he trying to do? Leechad kahika! I am never going to his cabin again! Even if Mr President is late again, I will wait for him rather than report to that leechad!
Jalal finally reached office. He went straight into his cabin. He told Salima to go and call Jodha. Jodha got up and started walking towards his cabin. As she was walking, she saw Adham coming there from the other direction. He looked at her and gave a sly grin. Jodha rushed into Jalal's cabin.
Jodha - Good morning, Mr President
Jalal - Good morning, Jodha
Jodha then occupied one of the chairs. She was looking a little flustered as catching a glimpse of Adham reminded her of what happened in his cabin. Jalal noticed the feeling of restlessness on Jodha's face.
Jalal - What happened, Jodha? Are you alright? Did something happen?
Jodha - No nothing, Mr President, I was just feeling a little hot that's all
Jalal - But the entire office is air-conditioned
Jodha - I just get a little uneasy in air-conditioned rooms
Jalal - Okay, anyways I have to assign you some more work today
Jalal then assigned Jodha some extra work in addition to the work she already had. Jodha was obviously irritated and Jalal had a sly smile.
Jalal - Oh yeah, Jodha. I want to know which place is great for lunch. I want to take Benazir for a date.
Jodha (to herself) - Oh Ambe Maa! He has given me so much work here! And he still has the gall to ask me such things! He is so annoying! Why can't he decide for himself? I think he should designate Monday as Take Benazir out for date' day! (to Jalal) - I really don't know Mr President; I am really way too tensed up to answer to any of the things you just asked me.
Jalal - Jodha, You are supposed to answer anything I ask you! And that includes things which are not related to work! I am your boss!
Jodha - Mr President, just take her to the office canteen. It is reasonable, the food is good and there is a discount on the meals today
Jalal - I can't take her there. I have to take her to a 5 star restaurant
Jodha - Then please decide yourself, Mr President. I am really in a hurry and I need to get this work done
Jodha then left Jalal's cabin and headed to her desk. Jalal just kept smiling.
Jalal - Jodha, I know that you called me over and gave me tea. But that doesn't mean I have forgotten my insult, my Hottie!
Jodha was doing the work Jalal had given her. She was so busy in doing the work that she did not realize what was going on around her. Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Adham standing behind her.
Jodha - What do you want now, sir?
Adham - I just want a date with you
Jodha - What if I say no?
Adham - Then I will keep asking you till you say yes
Jodha - Then all I can say is no, I am not interested
Jodha then turned around to continue with her work. Adham stood there for a while waiting to have another conversation with her but in vain. He turned around and went away to his cabin. However, Jalal had seen the entire encounter from his cabin.
Jalal - What was Adham trying to do? Why was he communicating with her when she is directly taking work from me?
Jalal failed to understand why Adham was trying to talk to Jodha. He didn't give much heed to it and carried on with his work. Benazir entered his cabin and gave him a hug.
Jalal - Benazir, why do you come late to office?
Benazir - Aise hi, mere bina bhi toh kaam ho raha hai na idhar. Then why should I come on time?
Jalal - Haan, woh toh hai. Where do you want to go for lunch today?
Benazir - Aaj nahi, some other day. I really don't want to go today
Jalal - Haan, okay. Some other time then
Benazir then left his cabin. Time passed by and soon it was lunch break. Jodha got up from her desk and headed for lunch to Salima's desk, where she would be meeting Ruqaiyya as well. The three women sat and opened their tiffins.
Salima - I have paneer ki subzi today. Tum donon ne kya laya hai?
Ruqaiyya - I have fried rice and manchurian
Jodha - I have pasta!
The three of them shared everything that they had brought to eat. Jalal's tiffin would come from home every day. He would eat a four course meal, complete with a soup, appetizer, main course, dessert and also a drink such as chhaas, sharbat or anything else. But since today he planned to go on a date with Benazir, he had told Ammijaan not to send food for him. Now, he was left without lunch, since Benazir had cancelled the plan. He came to Salima's desk, where he saw the three women chatting.
Jalal - What are you people talking about? Can I join you?
Salima - Oh sir, please take a seat
Jalal sat down and looked at the spread. His was feeling hungry but he didn't show it.
Jodha (to herself) - Iss Jallad ko bhi abhi aana tha! He doesn't even want us to enjoy lunch!
Salima - Sir, why are you not eating lunch?
Jalal - Umm...I did not call for lunch today. I was supposed to go out for lunch but the plan got cancelled. I called for lunch from the office canteen, but it has not arrived yet
On hearing this, Jodha felt bad for Jalal. He really looked hungry.
Jodha (to herself) - Oh, so he really was supposed to go for lunch! He actually refused lunch from home! He looks so hungry! (to Jalal) - Mr President, here take some of my pasta
