Nissan is trying to spice up the Note compact hatch by giving it a Black Edition for Europe.

In a bid to boost sales of the Note on the old continent, Nissan is applying some black body accents noticeable on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and also on the headlight bezels. These are part of a Dynamic Styling Pack which also brings a black roof-mounted spoiler at the back to make the B-segment five-door hatchback look a tad sportier.

The car rides on 16-inch wheels which as you would expect have also received a black finish and are complemented by the side mirror caps and door handles also featuring a similar appearance. All these modifications on the outside have a correspondent inside the cabin where the center console has a glossy black look while the gear shift knob and the headliner continue the same theme.

The Nissan Note Black Edition is based on the midrange Acenta trim level and can be had in a wide variety of body colors and with a generous array of optional kit. Buyers can pay more for goodies such as the NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system, the i-Key remote access, and an Auto Pack bringing automatic headlights, fog lamps, rain sensor, and automatic air conditioning.

Two engines are being offered, a frugal turbodiesel 1.5-liter with 90 horsepower and a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 80 hp or 98 horsepower. At an additional cost, the stronger gasoline engine can be linked to a continuously variable transmission to replace the standard manual gearbox.

Already available on order, the Note Black Edition is offered in Europe as a limited edition model, although Nissan isn’t saying how many units will be made. You’ll have to contact your local dealer to find out details about the price tag which given the car’s extras will be slightly higher than the standard Acenta trim upon which the limited-run model is based.
